MUNISING — Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team arrested a 27-year-old man from Alger County for possession of firearms Wednesday.

After a six-month joint investigation involving agents from with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and UPSET, it was determined that the suspect was a convicted felon and evidence posted on social media identified him shooting several different firearms.

As a convicted felon, the suspect was prohibited from using or possessing firearms, officials said. Due to the potential danger towards law enforcement, the Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team was utilized to execute a searc
