WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A Kansas boy got his chance to shine in Times Square on Saturday.

Brooks Houser, a kindergartener from Andover, was one of 500 children featured in the National Down Syndrome Society’s annual video presentation.

His mother, Amy Houser, said seeing his photo on the iconic screens was an unforgettable experience.

"Yeah, it was pretty surreal, they had two screens so one on top of the other, and it was just like a I dunno, it just gave us chills, it was kind of a cool moment to see his face so big, you know, in a place so well known," she said.

Amy said raising visibility for her son is crucial to helping others better understand inclusion.
