On Saturday, severe thunderstorms and heavy winds took over parts of western Connecticut.
“We hid in the basement and tried to just like hunker down until the storm passed,” said Rich Deanne whose house in the Marble Dale area of Washington took a big hit. “I could just see how bad the devastation was with all the tree damage.”

The storm caused trees and powerlines to fall throughout the New Preston Marble Dale area. Along the New Milford Turnpike, tree branches and limbs scattered the road and fallen trees could be seen in many yards.
“We lost eight or nine big trees. They were probably like 250 years old,” said Deanne outside his house where his front door was concealed by the trees.
Early Sunday morning, he was
