Lady Gaga , who led the pack with 12 nominations, came away from the night with the most wins. Mother Monster collected four Moon Person trophies despite having to rush off to perform at Madison Square Garden for her Mayhem Ball tour .

Ariana Grande trailed her with three wins, but the "Wicked" star could also boast about having delivered some of the most memorable speeches during the Sept. 7 award show in New York. She was tied with pop princess Sabrina Carpenter , who used the stage to make a statement in support of the LGBTQ+ community .
