Perth and Kinross committee hears Perth Academy still has a lot to do to improve

Perth and Kinross Council has pledged to support Perth Academy to raise standards following a poor inspection in November 2023. ‌

A follow-up inspection in February 2025 by His Majesty's Inspectorate of Education identified some progress had been made but found "insufficient progress" in improving wellbeing. ‌

This week a senior councillor encouraged the school towards the "challenging" but "reasonable" aspiration of achieving four "goods" when next inspected in 2027 compared to the two "weak" and two "satisfactory" ratings it received in 2023. ‌
