Eight new places to dine have popped up around and throughout the state in the past few months, including the return of a 75-year-old Chadds Ford restaurant landmark and a new coffee shop for downtown Lewes.

Other newcomers to consider: A restaurant in the site of a former Seaford jail; a French restaurant in Talleyville; a cocktail lounge in a historic Lewes building; a Mexican takeout in Wilmington; and a Nashville-style spot offering country music and food, and a 1950s-influenced burger joint/soda fountain, both in Newark.
