Frequent flyers or groups of travellers often prefer to be seated together, and families with young children usually opt for a row to themselves. Most airlines offer the facility to pre-book seats for a nominal fee, ensuring passengers get their preferred spot on the plane. ‌

Despite the additional cost, I always choose this option for several reasons. Knowing my exact location on the plane helps calm my nerves, and it also allows me to avoid one specific seat that I've come to dread. ‌
