LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Another chilly morning here in the commonwealth as we track a gradual improvement in our temperatures for the week ahead.

Skies stay clear to start with, some low-lying communities seeing a bit of fog. Many will head out the door to calm conditions. Temperatures are close to record-breaking lows, with the Fayette County Metro Area dipping down well into the 40s for the morning hours.

Thanks to an area of high pressure - we will see dry skies for a good chunk of our forecast. Sunshine in our afternoon will have our temperatures in the afternoon reaching the mid 70s.

This dry week ahead will promise a gradual improvement in temperatures, eventually by the end of the week we will return to conditions in the mid 80s.

Have a great Monday!
