A woman has been hit by a car during a late-night incident in Stockton . Emergency services were called to Yarm Lane, near the junction with Hartington Road, at around 10.20pm on Sunday, September 7.

A 22-year-old woman is currently receiving treatment in hospital, Cleveland Police has confirmed. The woman is understood to have suffered serious injuries during the collision and was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees , in Stockton.

A spokesperson for the force said: "The collision involved a black Ford Focus and the female pedestrian received injuries which are serious, although not believed to be life threatening. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 171857."
