ISLANDIA, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man is accused of trying to rob a 71-year-old man twice of money he won at a Long Island casino on Sunday, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

Police said the victim was walking back to his car after winning a large cash payout from Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel at 3:40 p.m. when 24-year-old Aaron Hayes approached him. Hayes is accused of reaching into the victim’s pocket and stealing a small amount of cash, according to authorities.

Police said that when Hayes realized he had allegedly stolen a small amount, he walked back toward the victim. Hayes is accused of knocking the victim to the ground and rifling through his coat pockets, according to authorities.
