FORDHAM, the Bronx (PIX11) --- A man was stabbed multiple times in the back while getting off an MTA bus in the Bronx last week, police said Monday.

The 23-year-old man was attacked when the BX9 bus stopped at the stop on East Fordham Road in Fordham at around 9:35 a.m. on Sept. 2, according to the NYPD.

The victim was getting off when the bus doors opened before the suspect allegedly stabbed him with an unknown object in the back and left arm several times, police said.

The attack was unprovoked, cops said.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a black backpack, police said. There have been no arrests.
