A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being struck by a car on Interstate 84 in Plainville on Sunday.

The crash occurred on the westbound side of the highway in the area of Exit 33 shortly after 11 a.m., according to Connecticut State Police .

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, state police said. No other injuries were reported.

The highway was shut down in the area of the crash while first responders were at the scene.
