GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The western slope woke up to some thunderstorms this morning. However, sunny skies are expected to kick off the week today with highs in the upper eighties. Tonight, partly cloudy conditions move back into the region with overnight lows resting in the low sixties. Temperatures are expected to maintain closer to the average this week as well. Expect isolated to scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the higher terrain daily through mid week. Thursday and Friday will see widespread showers and thunderstorms return with a passing system. Temperatures remain near normal to a few degrees above normal through mid week, before cooling to five to ten degrees below normal by Friday.
