LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A man is in custody after police say he fired at officers during an early morning pursuit in Lexington.

According to police, officers were called to the 2000 block of Cambridge Drive around 2:05 a.m. Monday for a reported robbery where a vehicle had been taken. That vehicle was later found on Lakeshore Drive.

Police say a suspect armed with a rifle ran from the vehicle and fired a shot at officers. Officers returned fire, but no one was hit. The suspect suffered minor injuries during the pursuit, was treated at the hospital, and then released into custody.

Kentucky State Police are investigating the incident, and charges are expected against the suspect. Police noted that the incident did not involve a school, and all roadways in the area have since reo
