A visitor to Golden Ears Park who claimed his vehicle was damaged by road conditions will be compensated almost $2,000 by the park operator.
The B.C. Civil Resolution Tribunal sided with Gerald Joseph Lane, who took a small claims action against Alouette Park Management for $1,915. That was the cost to repair damage to his vehicle after Lane drove over a pothole.
Alouette Park Management countered the road was in good condition, with no potholes, and argued Lane was driving too close to the edge of the road. It also said the park operator's agreement with the BC government means it bears no liability.
