In a statement, WestJet said emergency services deployed foam as a precaution, and the aircraft’s slides were activated. All passengers and crew evacuated safely and were taken to the terminal.
The airline confirmed to the media that there were no injuries. “All guests are accounted for and there are no reported injuries,” WestJet said.
The incident is under review, and the airline has stated that it is cooperating with local authorities while awaiting confirmation of the cause.
