Thor, real name Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, was competing at The Strongman Open & Mutant World Deadlift Championships.

Previously holding the deadlift world record for 500kg, Thor hammered that score by lifting 510 kg.
Thor, who is known to Game of Thrones fans as The Mountain, wowed fans in attendance at Utilita Arena Birmingham.
Beating his own world record, Thor would later be crowned the champion of the competition and picking up £100,000.
