STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Where else can you sip bubble tea, enjoy gourmet coffee and hand-crafted desserts, and sample sushi, artisan pizza, and quesadillas—all in one afternoon? If your appetite can keep up, that would be at the 10th annual restaurant crawl hosted by leaders of the New Dorp Business Improvement District (BID).
By 2 p.m., after morning rain cleared, New Dorp Lane between Hylan Boulevard and North Railroad Avenue was transformed into a vibrant street festival.
Nearly 30 restaurants participated, offering a stunning array of cuisines—from Italian and Mexican to Asian fusion and Indian fare, with copious pasta plates in between. The street closure also made room for children’s entertainment, a train ride, and DJ music stations that created a festive block party atmosphere.
