The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) confirmed that a bat found near Locust Hill and S Bates roads in Taylors, South Carolina, has tested positive for rabies.

Three dogs were exposed and will be quarantined as required in the South Carolina Rabies Control Act.

The bat was submitted to DPH's laboratory for testing Sept. 4, 2025, and was confirmed to have rabies Sept. 5, 2025.
