I cherish my memories of attending college at Fort Lewis College in Durango, skiing its exhilarating slopes and hiking its magnificent wilderness.
I feel an abiding love for the state, and Holly McLain’s letter reinforces my respect for the many Coloradans, such as the author of the piece, who are willing to fight for its unforgettable landscapes. All Americans should speak up to protect what is wild, sacred and irreplaceable in their own states.
