Sudbury Wolves Sports and Entertainment paid tribute to legendary goaltender, politician, lawyer, businessman and author Ken Dryden this past weekend by lighting up the World’s Biggest Goal Light, the former Sudbury water tower, in the blue, white and red of the Montreal Canadiens, with whom Dryden won six Stanley Cups in the 1970s.

A Hockey Hall-of-Famer and winner of multiple individual awards, Dryden passed away last Friday at the age of 78. Article content Article content

The downtown water tower was converted in 2024 into a massive goal light that flashes red when the Wolves score on home ice. It can also light up in different colours and is used to mark special occasions, holidays and festivals.
