NBA Eastern Conference Champion and Montreal native Bennedict Mathurin and his sister, former Division-1 basketball player Jennifer Mathurin, were awarded Monday the Medal of the National Assembly of Quebec for outstanding community service.
The medal was awarded by Liberal MNA Madwa-Nika Cadet and Montreal-North Mayor Christine Black alongside community leaders, family, friends and colleagues, according to a press release from the Marthurin Family Foundation.
