A Perinton man and woman have been charged with multiple misdemeanors after authorities found 50 cats living in their home in squalid conditions.
George and Pamela Meyer of 14 Kreag Road face 24 counts of torturing and injuring animals and failure to provide adequate sustenance.
The pair also is charged with 50 counts of failing to provide proper food and drink to impounded animals.
The cats were taken to Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, for evaluations and observation.
On Aug. 20, Lollypop Farm Humane Law Enforcement investigators and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office assisted the town in executing a municipal search warrant at the address after neighbors reported seeing the homeowners feeding multiple cats on the property.
