IOWA CITY — Iowa City West improved to 2-0 this season with a blowout 56-7 win over Dubuque Hempstead on Sept. 5.

In their home opener, the Trojans jumped out to a 42-7 halftime lead and cruised the rest of the way.

West High's Julian Manson and Colin Whitters are committed to Iowa football in the 2026 recruiting class. Manson is the top-ranked player in the state of Iowa's 2026 high school class, according to the 247Sports Composite, while Whitters ranks seventh.

Manson is committed to the Hawkeyes as a linebacker but plays both ways for the Trojans. Whitters plays offensive line.
