STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Monsignor Farrell opened its CHSFL JV AAA season in dominant fashion on Sunday, blanking visiting Holy Cross 35-0 in Oakwood.

QB Matt Bell was perfect through the air, completing all six of his passes for 61 yards, including a 16-yard TD strike to wideout Mason Morales to get the Lions rolling. On the ground, Farrell leaned on its dynamic backfield, as Jayden Burch racked up 100 yards on eight carries with a touchdown and Luca Bruno added 60 yards on just four attempts and found the end zone himself.
