SMITHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A young boy is in custody and facing charges after making an offhand comment to a classmate about shooting up their school last week.
According to the DeKalb County sheriff, a 12-year-old student was walking to class at DeKalb Middle School on Friday morning when he overheard a conversation between two other students.

One of them was saying he did not have something he needed for his class, so the boy stated that, “He had a Glock in his backpack and would shoot up someone, gladly,” according to the sheriff.
