LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (KCTV) - The Leavenworth County Attorney’s Office says a 25-year-old woman is soon to face sentencing for drug-related charges.

On Sept. 5, Rhuane L. Taylor of Leavenworth pleaded no contest to one count of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and guilty to possession of amphetamine.

The year prior, on March 18, 2024, Taylor was found asleep in her car after a passerby called the Leavenworth Police Department to report her slumped behind the wheel.

After officers knocked on the windows, Taylor reportedly awoke and got out of the car. Inside the car and her purse, officers found pills that tested positive for amphetamine.

Her sentencing hearing is scheduled for Oct. 10, 2025.
