A 17-year-old is in the hospital after being shot by a rideshare driver, according to a release from the Winston-Salem Police Department.
On Sunday, Winston-Salem Police officers responded to a reported shooting in the 4900 block of Doris Street where upon arrival they found a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound, the release said.
The juvenile was then transported to a local hospital and is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
The WSPD Violent Firearms Investigation Team (VFIT) responded to investigate the shooting and say preliminary evidence indicates the incident stemmed from a dispute with a rideshare driver.
