Drivers can expect road closures for two nights to complete asphalt paving on the Homer Watson Boulevard and Block Line Road roundabout in Kitchener.

Homer Watson Boulevard will be closed from Hanson Avenue to Treeline Place Monday, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Block Line Road will be closed from Kingswood Drive to west of Fallowfield Drive Tuesday, also from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The work is part of a roundabout pedestrian safety pilot program at existing roundabouts in Kitchener, Cambridge and Waterloo. The goal, the region stated, is to trial three different crosswalk safety features to “help anyone walking or rolling feel more safe.”

The Kitchener roundabout received raised sidewalks, while the roundabout at Franklin Boulevard and Bishop Street North in Cambridge will have flashing lights. The
