KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man has been charged following the stabbing death of a man in Kansas City, Kansas, last week.

The Wyandotte County district attorney on Friday charged Troy Ford, 29, with second-degree murder.

According to the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department (KCKPD), officers responded to a stabbing call just after 7 p.m. on Sept. 4 near South 65th Street and Kansas Avenue, just south of Kaw Drive.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as 23-year-old Christopher Cook.

KCKPD said those involved were detained and are cooperating with investigators.

Ford made his first court appearance Monday morning. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 16 at 9 a.m.
