ALLONS, Tenn. (WSMV) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced the upcoming closure of a lakeside recreation area at Dale Hollow Lake.

Access to the Lillydale Day Use Recreation Area will be prohibited beginning September 15, to allow repair crews to perform some necessary maintenance to the beach swimming area.

The closure will affect the picnic shelter, swimming area, and bathhouse, according to the USACE.

The USACE reported that the retaining wall along the swimming area and the beach itself will undergo required maintenance during the closure.

The work is necessary to keep the swimming area accessible and safe for our visitors,” said Crystal Tingle, Dale Hollow Lake resource manager.
