Liberal MP Julian Leeser has made an unreserved apology to the Indian community in his electorate for comments made by his colleague Jacinta Nampijinpa Price, while the party descends into further infighting over the internal response to the firebrand senator’s remarks.
Leeser, who is the shadow attorney-general, posted to his Facebook page on Monday night with a video of a speech he gave to an Indian language school in his north-west Sydney electorate. “I took the opportunity to apologise to the Indian community for any offence they felt from recent comments made by one of my colleagues,” he wrote in the caption.
