A number of shots were fired at a home with people inside in Sydney's south-west overnight.

At about 2.40am, police were called to home on Wright Street in Merrylands.

Officers found gunshots had been fired into the building.

There had been three people inside at the time.

No injuries have been reported.

Local roads have been closed as police investigate the crime scene, with drivers urged to avoid the area.
