A star from ABC’s “The Rookie” has fans abuzz with excitement for season 8.

Melissa O’Neil, who plays fan-favorite character Lucy Chen, took to Instagram last month to share an update.

“These ladies are back in action!!!” O’Neil captioned a photo of Lisseth Chavez, who plays Celina Juarez, and herself on the set of “The Rookie.” The pair were dressed in their police officer uniforms in the picture.

Although season 8 of “The Rookie” isn’t expected to premiere until January 2026, fans were thrilled to see that O’Neil and Chavez have begun filming.

“CANT WAIT TO SEE U GUYS ON SCREEN AGAIN,” one viewer commented.

“We’re sooooo ready,” another wrote.

“Can‘t wait for Season 8,” a third fan chimed in,
