Denver emergency crews responded around noon Monday to a report of an employee who fell into a corn silo at a Frito-Lay plant in Denver.
The Denver Fire Department said on the social media platform X that the man fell about 40 feet down the silo. Capt. Dan Wilson said the man landed on the corn, “which softened his fall.”
There was a ladder leading up the side of the silo. Wilson said he didn’t know how the man fell. Crews lowered rescue equipment to the man, who was able to put on the harness and climb up a ladder near the top to get out.
Wilson said the man told responders that he wasn’t injured. Paramedics checked the man at the scene. Wilson didn’t know if the man was taken to the hospital.
No one at Frito-Lay could be reached for comment. The plant is at 3995 Nome St.
