ST. LOUIS — Two billboard companies, the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council and former St. Louis Carpenters union chief Al Bond have agreed to dismiss a long-running lawsuit tied to Bond's 2021 ouster.
The lawsuit first was filed in April 2023 by Foxpoint Interactive and Interrail Outdoor, who accused the union of improperly canceling an outdoor advertising contract that paid the companies $4 million to erect three billboards. Only one of those billboards was constructed.
The Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council, which was formed after the United Brotherhood of Carpenters had the Chicago Carpenters council take over the St. Louis council, countersued. It accused the companies and Bond, who was friends with billboard company owner James Neumann, of fraud.
