A Glasgow Cowcaddens street is closed after police were called to a group of people who had “taken unwell ”.

Police have asked drivers to avoid the area after they were called to the scene on Cambridge Street at about 8.10pm on Monday evening (September 8).

Cambridge Street was closed in both directions between Buccleuch Street and Renfrew Street.

Police said there is no risk to the wider public. Police enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Cambridge Street in Glasgow is closed at Cowcaddens following a report of a group of people having taken unwell around 8.10pm on Monday, 8 September, 2025.

"Enquiries are ongoing and there is no risk to the wider public. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area."
