MARSHFIELD, Mo. — Residents in Marshfield are remembering the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, during an event titled "Marshfield Remembers."

According to a City of Marshfield press release, the city is hosting its 5th annual memorial event at 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, at Patriot Park.

The park will display 2,977 flags and projects from students of the Marshfield R-1 School District from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Sept. 9 to Sept. 11 to remember the lives lost on 9/11.

“This memorial and tribute is designed to let those who experienced 9/11 come together and reflect on the events of that day, honor the lives lost and the families left behind and educate future generations so that we truly 'Never Forget'," Mayor Natalie McNish said in the release.
