CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots may be harder to get for certain West Virginians this virus season due to new FDA requirements that limit access for people ages five to 64 who don't have high-risk underlying conditions.
This policy has been put in place ahead of the Center for Disease Control's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices' ruling on the 2025-26 formulation of the COVID-19 vaccine and booster shot.
"If you were to go to a pharmacy, and you are under the age of 65 without a pre-existing condition, you would need a prescription at a pharmacy from your medical provider to get a COVID vaccine," said Chad Bundy, executive director for the Clarksburg-Harrison Health Department.
