Chicago Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren revealed Monday he anticipates finalizing plans this year to build a new stadium in suburban Arlington Heights.
In an open letter to fans prior ahead of the team’s home opener against the Minnesota Vikings, Warren said that the team hopes to host a Super Bowl as soon as 2031, and "this is the moment to begin moving toward that future."
The Bears purchased 326 acres of land in Arlington Heights in 2023 , the former site of the Arlington International Racecourse. The team has proposed building a domed stadium on the property, along with hotels, shops and a variety of other amenities on the site, according to plans published by the Bears.
Warren has pledged the construction would not require state money.
