LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Lansing Veterans Council is hosting a series of events this week to honor those who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001.

What started as a four-year career for Veteran Sherri Days turned into 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. And, now 20 years after retiring, she finds herself serving again, this time, at Evergreen Cemetery.

“When I moved back to Michigan seven years ago, I decided that I wanted to help out more in the community, and for me, this is a good way to be outside,” said Days.

The Lansing Veterans Council is putting together a 9/11 Honor Field Exhibit at Evergreen Cemetery.

“We’ll be placing 91 flags total; 34 from the World Trade Center, 2 on Flight 93, and then 55, representing the active military that were killed in 9/11,” said Lan
