SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — As the first light of day stretched across San Angelo Stadium, Clinton Roebuck stood among a crowd of strangers, united by one solemn purpose — to remember.

It was his first year climbing.

For several years, the San Angelo police officer helped organize the city's 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, hosted annually by Team RWB, a veteran support organization. But this time, Roebuck wasn’t behind the sirens or handing out water. He was climbing all 2,200 steps — the symbolic equivalent of 110 floors — just like the 343 firefighters did on that tragic day in 2001.
