A 15-year-old has been charged as an adult with first-degree intentional homicide for allegedly strangling his 68-year-old grandmother.

The teen was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, according to a criminal complaint filed Friday, Sept. 5. Prosecutors say that on Aug. 27, the teen allegedly strangled the woman, identified as Elizabeth Totsky by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office, at their shared home in South Milwaukee.

South Milwaukee police and fire responded to the home, where first responders were able to stabilize Totsky and take her to the hospital. She later died Sunday, Aug. 31.
