ATHENS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Ohio University announced that it has appointed veteran intercollegiate athletics administrator Slade Larscheid as the school's newest Director of Athletics.

"Ultimately, Slade has so many of the characteristics and experiences that we sought in a new Director of Athletics, including a demonstrated history of enhancing the student-athlete experience, valuing academics, winning championships and generating revenue," Ohio University president Stewart Gonzalez said in a press release. "I have full confidence that Slade will build on our momentum."

Larscheid previously served as the deputy athletics director at South Dakota State since 2020.
