SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Parents in Springfield are raising concerns about safety at Hamlin Middle School after a video circulated on social media showing a student being attacked by classmates just days into the new school year.

The incident, which took place on Friday, August 5, shows a younger student confronted and then shoved to the ground by multiple boys. KEZI is not publishing the video because it shows minors, following requests from those involved.

Hundreds of social media comments showed a clear anger towards the incident, one commenter said it is "disgusting for a kid to go through something like that. It's not okay".

Another comment read "This is horrifying. No kid should ever EVER have to deal with this."

The victim’s mother described the altercation as “premeditated” and said
