BLUE RIVER, Ore. – Joshua Henley, a Physical Education and Health teacher at McKenzie High School, lives three miles from the school at Lazy Days Mobile Home and RV Park. Like so many others in the community, it was five years ago he left his home not knowing what he'd return to.

“I wasn't prepared when I did come back,” Henley said. “Me and my girlfriend came up and we were looking, and it was just ash.”

Being so close to the school, students would regularly visit Henley at his home in Lazy Days R-V Park.

“When they found out that I lived here, they would actually ride their bikes,” Henley said.

At the time he said he didn't fully appreciate the kids constantly dropping by.

“I just remember thinking, ‘oh my god, here they are again everyday,’” Henley said. “I mean, I'd come home and
