DENVER (KDVR) — A welfare check conducted Friday by the Lone Tree Police Department has turned into a homicide investigation.

Officers first responded to 10400 Park Meadows Drive, an apartment complex in Lone Tree, on Sept. 4, just before noon. They had been called to the address for a welfare check.

Officers entered the home and found Kathleen Mayo, 57, dead inside.
