HIDALGO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man wanted for an alleged child sex crime was arrested over the weekend at the Hidalgo International Bridge.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers arrested 20-year-old Jaime Maldonado on Saturday after a secondary inspection confirmed he had a felony arrest warrant out of Hidalgo County for sexual assault of a child.
"CBP officers continue to maintain their vigilance, and that dedication to duty resulted in this significant apprehension for a man wanted on an outstanding warrant for a crime of a sexual nature involving a child,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez.
Maldonado was turned over to Hidalgo County sheriff’s deputies.
