BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Security First Credit Union and Texas Regional Bank are partnering with the Brownsville Independent School District to sponsor a new program that will provide hands-on banking experience for students.
The 11-week program will be available to Brownsville ISD seniors to prepare students for entry-level positions in the credit union and banking industry.
Andy Reed, CEO of Security First Credit Union, says that students will have the opportunity to learn banking literacy from teller operations and information security to finances and lending operations.
"They're going to get a broad focus of what the business is like," Reed said.
