City of Orangeburg employees to get cost-of-living increase - DPU adding to amount it gives city

The City of Orangeburg will provide city employees with a 2 percent cost-of-living salary increase for the upcoming 2025-2026 fiscal year.

“We have gone back and have had some conversations with Mr. Harley, DPU and also our budget analyst,” Orangeburg City Administrator Sidney Evering told City Council on Tuesday. Politics

He said the 2 percent increase will add about a $200,000 expense to the budget. DPU will increase the amount it gives the city from $9.1 million to $9.3 million to pay for it.

Evering said the general fund budget will be $29,919,307.

The budget does not include a merit-based increase for city employees, though it will be looked into at a later time. Politics
